Simpson University Receives $5 Million Grant

Simpson University has been awarded $5.15 million in federal grant funding over the next five years to help boost higher education success rates among Northern California students. The grants will fund Upward Bound programs in four Shasta and Siskiyou County high schools for five years. Simpson will host more than 200 students on campus each summer as part of the program.

Staff Members Participate in Shasta County Memorial Day Ceremony

Simpson University Veterans Success Center Director Justin Spears delivered the invocation at a Shasta County Veterans Memorial Day Service. Staff members from Simpson’s Student Development Office joined Spears in placing a wreath at the Veterans Memorial Grave near the Redding Civic Auditorium.
The university's new Veterans Success Center is designed to help military veterans and
their family members successfully pursue a college education.

Simpson University President to Retire

The university's 14th president, Dr. Robin Dummer, has announced that he will retire after the 2017-18 year, when his contract ends. Dr. Dummer has served in multiple roles at Simpson during the past almost quarter-century.

The national champion Red Hawks softball team took home another conference championship and more awards this season, including the sixth Coach of the Year honor for Red Bluff resident Wayne Stower.
