The Samuelson Mission Fund Application
The purpose of this fund is to assist Simpson University graduates with the retirement of their student loans debt via direct payment to the financial institution servicing their student loans. Here are the scholarship criteria:
A. Be a graduate(s) of Simpson University working toward in international missions work;
B. In a cross-cultural setting for a recognized evangelical missions organization;
C. Additional preference is given to C&MA missions;
D. Award may be given to any deserving graduate who meets the first two criteria above, as determined by the Simpson University Advancement Department;
E. Recipient is expected to provide ministry updates on a quarterly basis with the donor;
F. If available distributions exceed the needs of qualified applicants, the Simpson University Scholarship Committee may award benefits to a student:
a. Majoring in missions or cross-cultural studies
b. In their senior year
c. Working for placement with the C&MA or other recognized evangelical missions
d. In lieu of (in place of) incurring an equivalent amount of student loans for that year (student is strongly advised to reduce or not take the amount of offsetting loans).

Note: Direct payment of another individual’s obligation over amounts specified in the IRS Tax Code may result in taxable income to the beneficiary. Simpson University will administer record keeping necessary to comply with regulatory requirements. Profiles of those receiving the benefit, including contact information, will be provided to the donor or their designee. Recipients are expected to provide ministry updates on a quarterly basis with the donor.
